As I’ve been revisiting my older work, I’ve been able to really see my growth. I also have a better understanding of my natural point of view. Having the talent, skill, and/or ability to do something is one thing, but your motivation, your impetus, your why, is separate. And sometimes, as in my case, you feel, and are moved to, compelled to, a course of action before being able to clearly articulate why you are doing what you’re doing, and why it’s purposeful.
The beauty of having faith and following your instincts is that if you stay dedicated, the work you put in will eventually lead you to understanding the purpose of the action. Finally feeling confident enough to say that I’ve reached that place where I’m starting to understand, I can see how this realization is more personal than public. You literally have to have the mind of an artist to understand the feeling because I can’t show you, I can only try to explain (as I’m doing, lol). It’s not in the clarity of an image or perfect composition…it’s understanding that people are going to like it or love it, and that’s it. You have to love it and be in love with your point of view, who follows, will, and those that don’t, won’t…But once you have enough that support, it doesn’t matter who doesn’t.
As we inch closer to the end of the year, I get reflective as I start thinking about the year ahead. With Halloween putting a period on the end of the prior month, this one started with the feel of nostalgia - reliving the day after through my daughter’s haul. Counting up your candy stash still holds the same joy, the enthusiasm never dissipates. A retrograde started during the month (Nov. 9th), which was perfect for that energy - I saw it in the path of my travels, places that I frequently revisit, and a few that I haven’t in a while. The universe presents beautiful moments for you to continuously refine your craft, but you have to stay present and passionate. Please pay attention to the simple beauties of life.
