Daily Operation ⏪ March 2020

This month the unthinkable would happen — the world shut down! COVID-19 would be the headline, and for the first time in my life, the whole world paused. Our daily lives were altered in such a way, that in 2026, we are still feeling the effects.

As we started to get information about what was happening, the quarantine was put in action, and the reality of what the future held started to become clearer. After all my years of enjoying movies, I was beginning to feel like I was in one. The idea that we all had to just stay in the house, and have limited contact with people just seemed like an impossible feat, especially knowing how some of us humans have a knack for not following the rules.

So we began to settle in and wait for further instructions. It was such a crazy feeling because on one hand, as a new parent, the idea of getting to be at home with my two favorite people was awesome, but on the other hand, the uncertainty of the future was looming high in the sky.

In hindsight, we made it through, but during that moment in time, March 2020, we were looking forward, into the forming of a new world. Mind-blowing to look back and think of all the things that are now norms, born out of this time. As we continue to revisit this time period in the future posts, I’m sure I will have more observations and reflections.

Not much to report otherwise…. Continued exploring the angles of my neighborhood. I can say that because of the quarantine, with less traffic, the streets started to have more moments of stillness.
