SOLE CYCLE: A Sneaker Conversation - Washington, D.C.

7/9/26

A lil’ over three months ago, an idea I had became a reality.

I’m a native New Yorker all day, but I’ve learned, “It ain’t where you from, it’s where you’re at!” So, on March 27, 2026, during my art exhibition with Chrys Seawood, LIVIN’ PROOF, in Washington, DC, I felt like it was the perfect opportunity, environment, and backdrop to bring my idea to life.

When it comes to sneakers, growing up in New York City was an experience all it’s own — but then, to have also lived in Philadelphia, Atlanta, and DC, I’ve been able to gain a unique perspective, over the last 20+yrs of the game.

After witnessing the growth of this community, I wanted to find a way to highlight and celebrate the contributions and people from the places I’ve been.  With my unique connections to sneaker culture and some notable sneaker personalities from the District, I wanted to organize a moment for us all to link and talk kicks and the evolution of the culture, as well as share some stories. The goal was to start a conversation to dispel the clickbait narratives saying that sneaker culture is dying.

I was honored to be joined by Ian Callender, Nyrik Lee, Adrian Carter, and Abdul Fouzi. After having this convo, it’s safe to say, the culture is alive and well! See you at the next one?
