Saturday, July 25, 2026 (Washington, D.C.) - Some people, when you meet, you know that you were meant to... Phresh was one of those people. Midway thru our first conversation we both started to see how closely we’ve been orbiting one another, confused at how we hadn’t met sooner due to our many mutual connections.

With us both being Photographers, there was an immediate synergy and brotherhood formed. He was also accompanied by his significant other, Malkia (who is also a creative in her own right, and is in a few shots below), who hit it off with both of my ladies as well! So when he invited us to his pop-up at St. Helens Leather, you know we had to pull up!

Phresh Ingredient, is a DMV based Photo Journalist, with a focus on long form Portraiture, using film. He says his work is centered around the unheard, the overlooked, and creating spaces for people to be seen authentically. He’s been partnering with local businesses, giving their patrons opportunities to get their portraits taken. He’s found a way to build community through his offering.

Authenticity is a theme with him. You feel it in his tone and see it in his interactions with others. I got to witness this as I observed him in action. You can see his attention to detail and care in his craft as he documents his subject.
